The unique demands of military duty, with frequent separations from family members, can be extremely stressful for service men and women and their families.  The American Red Cross has been serving military men and women and their families for more than 100 years. . The American Red Cross provides emergency related services to members of the U.S. armed forces, their families and veterans, 24-hours a day, 365 days of the year. In addition, the American Red Cross is always available to help in many ways with the special problems of mobilization and deployment.

.
Red Cross services to the armed forces include:

·         Emergency Communications - Keeping military personnel in touch with their families during family emergencies by sending emergency messages. When emergencies occur, and the family is unable to rapidly contact the service member through normal communication channels, it can be very stressful.  The American Red Cross can send messages to inform the service member and his unit of emergency conditions at home.  How to send an emergency message through the American Red Cross.
